The History
Hamel's Inspiration -
The guild actually began as the "black crows fighters guild" , the "black crows" part came from his(Hamel) last experience at war before forming the guild. His squad of infantry were being destroyed as he watched the rest of his king's army fall at the blade of the enemy. As he looked up away from the chaos, he sees a blade coming right towards his face. He closes his eyes but does not feel the blade strike him, a noise drowns out the screams. He opens his eyes seeing the sky filled with black crows, they started attacking the enemy army which at this point was winning the battle.
Rumor says what appeared on the battle field was a god, regardless of this black crow/god part of the story, which Hamel only told a few, both armies lay dead, as did both kings. Hamel was the only one to leave with his life. There is a story about the interaction between Hamel and this so-called god but I will not be repeating it here.
A Guild Is Formed -
He heads to his home land and forms the guild, he started it as a fighters guild but at the same time preferred educated warriors over typical dumb meat shields. Ones who could learn and learn fast made it in the guild.
Many mercenary guilds took these fighters in after realizing they had much more skill then just being able to fight. Much of the local mercenary guilds success was due to Hamel's hard work educating warriors they sent out to make a life for themselves.
Hamel had many small methods of gaining enough coin to maintain the guild.
These other guilds talked about Hamel being stupid for allowing this, when the rumors got back to Hamel he was not pleased. He called on loyal members back to his side, he reformed the guild as a mercenary guild and within 2 years had shut down the other mercenary guilds by stealing all the business. Hamel could sometimes "go for the throat" so to speak when he was crossed.
During these two years Hamel said he had visions, these visions would lead him to the idea of a "new world order".
Parting Words -
Hamel and the guild vanished into the history books, Hamel when he left said he did not fail, his journey had only just begun.
The Keepers Of Knowledge -
Hamel & The Black Crows are the reason for many of the advancements of this world, they are also the people that have kept the most detailed records of history.
Everything known to this day is from their point of view for the most part.·····HHfVLZJy
